For young people with long-term illnesses and their parents. Run by Barbara & David Robinson, The Suffolk Youth and Parent Support Group for pupils with long-term illnesses was set up with the support of Suffolk LEA's Parent Partnership Initiative and is based in Ipswich.
There are monthly meetings for both young people up to the age of 25 and their parents. All the young people concerned have reduced school/college attendance or reduced capacity to work, through ill-health (in particular M.E./Chronic Fatigue Syndrome).
The role of the group includes: reducing isolation of young people and parents, sharing problems/strengths, accessing and sharing information, linking to national self-help organisations.
